About Us

The Roger Williams University Chapter of PRSSA, was founded at Roger Williams University in fall 2004. The chapter is a chartered nationally, and an official Roger Williams University recognized club. The Chapter's mission states, to serve our members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities; to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals, and in particular Roger Williams University works to make the world a better place through social change.

 

Because we are a recognized club on campus, our members recieve extraordinary funding opportunities.  Therefore our student members attend conferences, travel for tours and present papers nationally.

 

Amiee Shelton is the current RWU PRSSA faculty advisor and Sarah Dell serves as the professional advisor. The national organization is PRSSA and the parent chapter is PRSA Southeastern New England Chapter.

Goals:
  • Understanding of current theories and procedures of the profession

  • Appreciation of the highest ethical ideals and principles
