Each student executive board member is voted into their position by fellow PRSSA chapter members. They attend weekly e-board meetings in addition to chapter meetings and work together to oversee each committee. You can reach any of the e-board members by emailing them at rwuprssa@gmail.com
President:
Danica Delia is a senior public relations major at Roger Williams University with a minor and core concentration in Spanish. Originally from Norwalk, Connecticut, Danica has held PR internship positions at Missy Farren & Associates, Roger Williams University and Dorel Recreational/Leisure, and currently works part-time as an intern at Newberry Public Relations and Marketing in Providence, RI. Danica is senior captain of the Women's Lacrosse team at RWU. Upon graduation in May 2012, she hopes to find work within the public relations department of a major/minor league or collegiate sports team.
Vice President:
Mary Concannon is a senior public relations major at Roger Williams University with a minor in marketing and a core concentration in spanish. Mary has held PR internship positions at Northeast Health System, Roger Williams University and Marlo Marketing/Communications, and currently works part-time as an intern in the public relations department at FM Global, one of the world's leading commercial property insurers. Mary is competing against other universities nation-wide to create and implement a campaign fighting childhood obesity as part of the 2012 Bateman team.
Secretary:
Stephanie Hunt is a senior communications and psychology major from Ewing, NJ. Stephanie has been actively involved in PRSSA since her sophomore year and now serves as secretary. Stephanie has been selected for the RWU Bateman team for two consecutive years, recently advancing to lead the team as account executive. In addition to PRSSA, Stephanie is involved in dance club, WQRI (the school radio station) and serves as a building manager for the Recreation Center on campus.
Treasurer:
Nick Tsimortos is a senior majoring in Legal Studies and Philosophy. He joined PRSSA because he believes everyone needs to know how to market themselves because no matter the industry, everyone needs PR. When he first joined, he was blown away at how much the mebers knew and how willing they were to teach him more about PR. Nick credits PRSSA for helping him with his position as the Student Senate President with campaigning and overseeing the PR committe for the Senate.
PR Coordinator:
Liz Monahan is a junior public relations major from Walpole, MA with minors in marketing and graphic design. She joined RWU PRSSA in the beginning of her sophomore year and is now the Chapter's public relations coordinator. Liz held an internship in the Roger Williams University Office of University Communications and is currently interning at Grace Ormonde Wedding Style for the spring 2012 semester. Outside of PRSSA, Liz works as an assistant in RWU's marketing communications department and also choreographs for the dance club
Historian:
Nina Travers is a senior public relations major and marketing minor from Lincoln, MA. She has been an active member of RWU PRSSA since her sophomore year and is now the chapter's historian. In addition to PRSSA, Nina works as the communication department's social media coordinator. Upon graduation in May 2012, Nina hopes to find a job at a public relations agency in either Boston or Los Angeles
Faculty Advisor:
Dr. Amiee Shelton holds a Ph.D. from Salve Regina University and holds a Masters Degree from Boston University. She has been our advisor for six years and has advised all our Bateman teams: Honorable Mention in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 3rd place in 2010. She has been awarded several awards for teaching and advising, and was awarded the Silver Spur Award for Best Internal Public Relations Plan. She has worked in television stations across the country as a producer, assignment manager and reporter.
